Don’t fall into the product development traps
Building a digital product has never been easier. But developing a digital product that customers value is as hard as ever.

#1 I’ve built a product but nobody uses it.
We see this a lot, organisations jump straight into building a thing, without really understanding why they are building it and for whom, or if their intended user can work out how to use the product at all, we call this the build or value trap.
#2 . I designed a product and it took longer than I thought to deliver it, or we failed to deliver at all.
Again we have probably jumped straight into building a thing, without first understanding if we can deliver it within time, using the skills and technology we have available to us, this is the feasibility trap.
#3. We’ve designed or built a product but my stakeholders
don’t support it, legal don’t like it, we can't afford to build and provision it or sales say they can’t sell it.
So we have designed a product or even built it, but in some way our business is now telling us that they simply cannot support the product at all, here we are describing the business viability trap.
